AMEX Blue Raises Rates, Pisses Off Customers

I’m telling you…the little guy can never get a break.
You work hard and pay your bills on time month after month and what do you get? A big kick in the balls.
This past Saturday I received a letter from American Express informing me they were jacking up the interest rate on my Amex Blue card from. When I say jacking up…I mean almost doubling it!
It turns out I’m not the only one. The Consumerist is reporting that ALL Amex Blue customers are receiving the same letter. What’s more…American Express seems completely unwilling to budge on the new rates.
In the past if you called your credit card’s customer service and asked for a better rate they would usually knock off a few points for good customers. But several people have already reported being denied by Amex service reps who seem to have the “take it or leave it” attitude.
I’ve been an Amex customer for years and have always been satisfied with their service. But this likely means the end of my relationship with them.
